Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub

The Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub is the foundation of a fully configurable Linn music system.

Rather than locking the customer into one fixed combination of conversion, outputs and amplification, the internal cartridge architecture allows the product to be built for a particular role and upgraded as the system develops.

Selekt DSM Classic Hub can be configured as a source-only network music player, a preamplifier with analogue outputs, an integrated amplifier with onboard power or part of a compatible multichannel system.

The correct configuration depends on the loudspeakers, power amplifiers, room, connected sources and level of digital-to-analogue conversion required.

Choose your DAC performance

Compatible Selekt DSM output cartridges can be partnered with a choice of Linn DAC modules.

Standard DAC provides the entry point to the platform, Katalyst offers Linn’s established higher-performance conversion architecture, and Organik provides Linn’s current reference DAC technology.

The chosen DAC module forms part of the complete custom build and is not automatically included with the base Classic Hub price.

Source, preamplifier or integrated amplifier

Stereo line-output cartridges allow Selekt DSM to connect to compatible external power amplification using analogue outputs.

Stereo power-output cartridges add two channels of onboard Class-D amplification, allowing suitable passive loudspeakers to connect directly to the Selekt DSM.

Hybrid cartridge options can support configurations combining analogue outputs with onboard power amplification.

Streaming and high-resolution playback

Selekt DSM can play compatible music stored on a network and access supported streaming platforms and internet radio services.

It supports music files up to 24-bit/384 kHz and formats including FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, DSD, MP3, WMA, AIFF, AAC and OGG.

Supported services include TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Deezer, AirPlay 2, Roon, airable, TuneIn and Calm Radio. Service availability and subscriptions may change over time or vary by region.

Connect digital and analogue sources

The Classic Hub includes a broad range of source connections for televisions, turntables, computers, disc players and other compatible components.

Its analogue input stage supports moving-magnet, moving-coil and line-level sources, allowing a suitable turntable to connect without necessarily requiring a separate phono stage.

Optical, SPDIF and USB connections support additional digital sources.

Television and HDMI integration

An HDMI eARC connection allows a compatible television to play through the Linn system.

The optional HDMI switching module adds four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, allowing compatible streaming devices, games consoles and disc players to connect through Selekt DSM.

The HDMI 2.0 platform supports compatible 4K video at up to 60 Hz, HDR, HDCP 2.2, ARC, eARC and CEC.

Optional surround-sound configuration

With the required DSP and HDMI modules, Selekt DSM can be configured for compatible surround-sound systems.

Supported configurations can extend up to 7.2 channels, depending on the selected output cartridges, DAC modules, amplification and wider system design.

Surround formats include Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital and a range of compatible DTS formats.

Exakt connectivity

Two Exakt Link connections allow Selekt DSM Classic Hub to connect digitally to compatible Linn Exakt loudspeakers and Exaktbox products.

This makes it possible to develop the system towards Linn’s digital crossover and loudspeaker-processing architecture without replacing the hub.

Linn Space Optimisation

Space Optimisation can model how the room and loudspeaker positions affect low-frequency performance.

The system can be configured around room dimensions, construction materials, practical speaker placement and the principal listening area.

Professional setup helps ensure the feature is configured around the actual room rather than relying on generic settings.

Utopik power supply

The Selekt DSM Classic Hub is powered by Linn’s Utopik power-supply architecture.

It is designed to provide clean, stable and responsive power to the streaming, control and optional audio modules fitted within the enclosure.

Classic folded-aluminium construction

The Classic Hub uses powder-coated folded aluminium casework mounted on an 8 mm machined-aluminium base.

An acrylic front fascia, cut-glass central dial and six machined stainless-steel smart buttons give the product a tactile physical interface.

The smart buttons can provide direct access to favourite albums, playlists, radio stations or connected inputs.

The advertised price is the starting price for the Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub platform.

The final system normally requires the appropriate DAC and output or amplification configuration. HDMI switching, surround processing and additional cartridges may also affect the final price.

Rococo Systems will prepare a complete itemised configuration before ordering so the required modules do not become a surprise-shaped invoice later.

Choosing Black or Silver

The Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub is available in subtly textured Classic Black or flat Classic Silver.

The finish choice applies to the external Classic Hub enclosure and does not change its modular capabilities.
