The Linn Klimax DSM AV is Linn’s flagship network music player and integrated preamplifier for systems bringing exceptional music and home entertainment together.
Organik digital-to-analogue conversion, Linn’s Utopik power supply and extensive analogue and digital connectivity are joined by HDMI 2.0 switching for compatible televisions, films, games and video sources.
Music and entertainment connected
Flagship Linn performance with HDMI connectivity
The Linn Klimax DSM AV combines a reference network music player, Organik digital-to-analogue converter and integrated preamplifier with an HDMI 2.0 switching board.
It can connect music sources, a compatible television, games consoles, streaming devices and disc players through one carefully controlled Linn system.
When used purely for music, it delivers the same flagship streaming, conversion and analogue performance as Klimax DSM Audio.
Designed around interaction
A tactile control surface machined with extraordinary precision
The upper control dial provides direct access to volume, playback and favourite functions without requiring a phone or tablet.
Illuminated sections respond to the selected function, while programmable smart buttons offer immediate access to favourite music, playlists, radio stations and connected sources.
The front display presents album artwork, track information and system details within an elegant, uncluttered interface.
One system for the room
Reference music performance without a separate AV receiver
Klimax DSM AV brings streaming, source selection, volume control, digital-to-analogue conversion and HDMI switching together within one compact component.
Its low-profile aluminium enclosure can sit comfortably within a living space while replacing several pieces of conventional music and home-entertainment equipment.
Choose Silver or Black anodised casework to coordinate with Klimax amplification and the wider interior.
Organik DAC
Linn’s reference digital-to-analogue conversion architecture is designed and manufactured in-house.
HDMI 2.0 and eARC
Four HDMI inputs and an eARC-enabled output connect compatible television and video sources.
Integrated preamplifier
Balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs allow direct connection to compatible power amplification.
Organik conversion
Digital-to-analogue conversion developed by Linn
Klimax DSM AV uses Linn’s Organik DAC architecture to convert digital music and compatible entertainment audio into an analogue signal.
Linn designed the FPGA processing, conversion stage and analogue output architecture as one complete system rather than relying on a conventional off-the-shelf DAC solution.
This provides greater control over timing, filtering, conversion and the handling of the analogue signal before it leaves the player.
HDMI connectivity
Connect television, films, games and video sources
Four HDMI 2.0 inputs allow compatible games consoles, streaming boxes, disc players and other video sources to connect through Klimax DSM AV.
One HDMI output connects to a compatible television or display and doubles as an eARC connection, allowing television audio to return to the Linn system through the same cable.
The HDMI implementation supports compatible 4K video at up to 60 Hz alongside HDR, HDCP 2.2, ARC, eARC and CEC.
Optional surround processing
Develop the system beyond stereo
Klimax DSM AV can be upgraded with compatible Linn surround-sound processing for customers building a multichannel entertainment system.
The final channel layout, amplification, DAC requirements, loudspeakers and subwoofers should be planned together around the room.
Rococo Systems can advise whether a high-performance stereo, 2.1 or larger surround arrangement best suits the space and intended use.
Powered by Utopik
A cleaner electrical foundation for every source
The Linn Utopik power supply provides stable electrical power to the sensitive streaming, processing, conversion and analogue circuitry inside Klimax DSM AV.
Power-supply quality affects several stages of an audio component, making Utopik an important part of the complete player rather than a background utility.
Its efficient design also helps support the compact proportions of the machined aluminium enclosure.
Music from every source
Streaming, analogue, digital and HDMI inputs together
Klimax DSM AV can play music from a compatible network server and supported streaming platforms, alongside internet radio and wireless sources.
Analogue, optical, coaxial, USB and HDMI inputs allow compatible turntable systems, disc players, computers, televisions and entertainment devices to become part of one system.
Integrated volume control allows direct connection to compatible power amplifiers without requiring a separate preamplifier.
High-resolution playback
Designed for extensive digital music libraries
Klimax DSM AV supports compatible PCM music up to 24-bit/384 kHz and DSD formats up to DSD256.
Supported audio formats include FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, DSD, MP3, WMA, AIFF, AAC and OGG.
Playback can be managed through the Linn App, supported streaming platforms, compatible control systems or the physical controls on the player.
Ready for Exakt
Connect digitally to a compatible Linn system
Two Exakt Link connections allow Klimax DSM AV to connect to compatible Linn Exakt loudspeakers, Exaktbox products and other supported Exakt components.
This can retain the signal in the digital domain until it reaches the appropriate processing and conversion stage within the wider Linn system.
The player can also be used conventionally through its balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA analogue outputs.
Configured for your room
Linn Space Optimisation included
Linn Space Optimisation can model the acoustic behaviour of the room and account for the practical position of the loudspeakers.
Room dimensions, construction materials, loudspeaker placement and the preferred listening area can be considered during system configuration.
This allows everyday living requirements, furniture and the physical shape of the room to become part of the setup.
Expert Linn support
Hear Klimax DSM AV and plan the right system
Rococo Systems can arrange a demonstration, explain the differences between Klimax DSM Audio and AV, and provide expert advice on HDMI sources, amplification, loudspeakers, Exakt connectivity and room setup.
