Begin with moving-coil performance

A complete Linn Majik LP12 MC turntable

The Linn Majik LP12 MC brings together the principal components required to enjoy the Sondek LP12 platform, with Linn’s Koil moving-coil cartridge fitted from the outset.

Its suspended belt-drive architecture, Karousel bearing, Majik sub-chassis, Krane tonearm and Koil cartridge have been selected to operate as one carefully balanced vinyl source.

The modular construction also allows individual components to be upgraded as the turntable and wider system develop.

Closer to the record groove

Krane tonearm with Koil moving-coil cartridge

The Linn Krane tonearm is constructed from aluminium and stainless steel and uses a low-friction bearing arrangement to support accurate cartridge tracking.

It is partnered with Linn’s Koil moving-coil cartridge, featuring a nude Microlinear stylus and low-mass boron cantilever.

The tonearm and cartridge are professionally aligned and configured as part of the complete Majik LP12 MC package.

Built around a proven platform

The enduring Sondek LP12 architecture

The Majik LP12 MC uses Linn’s suspended belt-drive turntable platform, with the platter, bearing and tonearm supported by an isolated sub-chassis.

This mechanical arrangement helps reduce the influence of unwanted vibration on the record, cartridge and tonearm.

The turntable is therefore engineered as one coordinated mechanical system rather than a loose collection of independently selected parts.

Koil MC cartridge

A nude Microlinear stylus and boron cantilever provide the Majik LP12’s first step into moving-coil playback.

Karousel bearing

Linn’s precision single-point bearing provides the central mechanical reference for the turntable.

Upgradeable platform

Individual LP12 components can be upgraded as the system and listening ambitions develop.

Moving-coil precision

Koil takes Majik LP12 beyond the MM starting point

Koil is Linn’s entry-level moving-coil cartridge and is fitted as standard to the Majik LP12 MC.

Its nude Microlinear stylus traces the record groove, while a low-mass boron cantilever transfers movement to the cartridge generator.

The cartridge produces a low-level output and must therefore be connected to a compatible moving-coil phono stage.

Mechanical precision

Karousel at the centre of the LP12

The Karousel single-point bearing forms the relationship between the platter, spindle and suspended sub-chassis.

Its rigidity and accurate fastening provide a stable mechanical reference for the rotating platter.

Because every part of the turntable ultimately works around the bearing, its precision plays a fundamental role in the performance of the deck.

A stable suspended foundation

Majik aluminium sub-chassis and laminated armboard

The Majik LP12 uses an aluminium sub-chassis partnered with a laminated armboard.

This structure supports the bearing, platter and tonearm while forming part of the turntable’s three-point suspended mechanical system.

It provides a balanced foundation for the supplied Krane tonearm while preserving compatibility with future Linn sub-chassis upgrades.

Powered from within

Internal Majik power supply

The Linn Majik LP12 MC includes an internal Majik power supply and synchronous AC motor.

The standard turntable speed is 33⅓ rpm, with 45 rpm playback available using the supplied adaptor.

The internal arrangement keeps the power supply neatly contained within the turntable rather than requiring a separate external enclosure.

Choose your plinth

Smooth, fluted and high-gloss options

The Linn Majik LP12 MC can be ordered with either a smooth plinth or Linn’s traditional fluted plinth.

Standard finishes include Oak, Cherry, Black Ash, Rosenut and Walnut, while Piano Black and Alpine White are available as high-gloss options.

Approved custom high-gloss colours may also be available by enquiry, allowing the turntable to coordinate with the room or wider system.

Made to evolve

An LP12 that can develop with your system

The modular Sondek LP12 platform allows individual components to be upgraded rather than requiring the complete turntable to be replaced.

Future upgrades may include the baseboard, sub-chassis, tonearm, cartridge, motor control, power supply and phono stage.

Rococo Systems can help plan those changes as a balanced progression so that each upgrade complements the rest of the turntable and system.

Compatible moving-coil phono stage required

The Linn Majik LP12 MC does not include an onboard phono preamplifier.

Its Koil cartridge produces a low-level moving-coil signal and must be connected to a compatible MC phono input or separate moving-coil phono stage.

A standard moving-magnet input, such as the MM input built into Majik DSM, is not suitable for Koil unless a compatible external MC phono stage is placed between the turntable and amplifier.

Plinth pricing

The Linn Majik LP12 MC starts from £3,935 including VAT with a smooth plinth in a standard finish.

The fluted version starts from £4,135 including VAT, while high-gloss finishes carry an additional £330 charge.

Custom high-gloss colours are available by enquiry and should be confirmed before ordering.

Professional LP12 assembly and setup

Professional assembly, delivery and initial setup are included when the Linn Majik LP12 MC is purchased from Rococo Systems.

Setup can include suspension adjustment, levelling, tonearm and cartridge alignment, tracking force, bias adjustment and connection to a compatible moving-coil phono stage.

Wall shelves, specialist furniture, concealed cabling, building work and integration involving products purchased elsewhere may be chargeable.

Servicing and future upgrades

The performance of a suspended turntable depends on accurate mechanical adjustment.

Inspection or servicing may therefore be recommended following transportation, relocation or the installation of a new component.

Rococo Systems can advise on appropriate servicing intervals and future LP12 upgrade options.

Linn warranty

The Linn Majik LP12 MC and its supplied Linn components are covered by the applicable Linn manufacturer warranty, subject to current registration and territorial terms.

Rococo Systems can confirm the precise warranty arrangements before purchase.
