Linn DSP Surround Sound Module for Selekt DSM

The Linn DSP Surround Sound Module is an internal processing upgrade for compatible Selekt DSM products.

Once installed within a correctly configured system, it enables the Selekt DSM to process compatible multichannel film, television and gaming audio alongside its established music-streaming capabilities.

Build a surround system around your room

A compatible Selekt DSM surround configuration can support systems ranging from 2.1 through to 7.2 channels.

The precise arrangement can be planned around the room, preferred listening position, available loudspeakers and whether amplification is housed inside the Selekt DSM or provided by external components.

Requires the Linn HDMI Upgrade Module

The DSP Surround Sound Module must be used with the Linn HDMI Upgrade Module.

The HDMI module provides the necessary switching and television connectivity, including four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output with eARC capability. This allows compatible televisions, streaming devices, games consoles and disc players to connect through the Selekt DSM.

Flexible amplification options

A Selekt DSM surround system can be configured using suitable internal power-out cartridges, external amplification or a combination selected around the loudspeakers and required channel layout.

The number and type of cartridges, DAC modules and amplifier channels required will depend on the chosen surround arrangement.

Compatible loudspeaker choices

The Linn DSP Surround Sound Module can form part of systems using suitable passive loudspeakers, Linn integrated Exakt loudspeakers or a carefully planned combination of compatible components.

The speaker layout, centre channel, surround channels and subwoofer arrangement should be agreed before the Selekt DSM is configured.

Music and cinema from one system

A correctly configured Selekt DSM surround system can provide multichannel audio for television, films and games while continuing to operate as a high-performance Linn music player.

This avoids the need for a separate conventional AV receiver and allows the system to be developed through Linn’s modular cartridge and DAC architecture.

Compatibility must be confirmed

The Linn DSP Surround Sound Module is not a standalone surround processor and cannot be connected externally to an incompatible product.

The Selekt DSM model, HDMI hardware, available cartridge bays, DAC technology, amplification and intended speaker layout must all be reviewed before ordering.
