Why choose the Linn Adikt Cartridge?
The Linn Adikt Cartridge is designed as an approachable starting point for a quality turntable system.
Its moving-magnet configuration makes it compatible with a wide range of suitable MM phono stages and amplifier inputs.
Moving-magnet cartridge design
Adikt uses a moving-magnet generator and produces an output suited to a compatible moving-magnet phono input.
This makes it easier to integrate into many existing systems than a lower-output moving-coil cartridge.
Replaceable Gyger II stylus
The Linn Adikt Cartridge features a replaceable Gyger II stylus.
When the stylus becomes worn or damaged, the stylus assembly can be replaced separately, subject to the condition of the cartridge body.
Rigid cartridge body
Linn describes Adikt as using a rigid body intended to support detailed and dynamic record playback.
The cartridge should be securely mounted and correctly aligned to achieve the intended performance.
Designed for compatible Linn turntables
Adikt is fitted as standard to the Majik LP12 MM and can be used with other compatible Linn turntable and tonearm configurations.
The tonearm, counterweight range, mounting arrangement and phono stage should all be checked before installation.
MM phono-stage compatibility
The Linn Adikt Cartridge requires a moving-magnet phono input or a phono stage with a suitable MM setting.
Linn specifies a load resistance of 47kΩ and a load capacitance of 150–200pF for Adikt.
Professional cartridge installation
Correct installation requires precise cartridge alignment, secure mounting and careful connection of the cartridge pins.
Tracking force, tonearm balance and cartridge alignment should be checked after fitting.
Replaceable stylus option
The replaceable stylus makes Adikt different from many moving-coil cartridges, where the entire cartridge may need to be replaced or rebuilt.
The existing cartridge body should still be inspected before ordering a replacement stylus.
